Tarek Suleiman and Will Fleury Set to Compete for UAE Warriors Middleweight Title

Breaking: Tarek Suleiman and Will Fleury Set to Compete for UAE Warriors Middleweight Title

Will Fleury (9-3) and Tarek Suleiman (12-7) are set to compete for the vacant UAE Warriors middleweight title at UAE Warriors 28, which is currently scheduled for Saturday, March 19. Multiple sources with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the news to MyMMANews.com.

Suleiman will have the opportunity to become a two-division promotional champion, having previously won the UAE Warriors Light Heavyweight Championship with a 2nd-round stoppage of Oli Thompson back in 2019.

Additionally, the matchup between SBG Ireland’s Fleury and Falcons MMA’s Suleiman offers up a rematch, with Fleury having previously defeated Suleiman by way of unanimous decision under the Brave CF promotional banner in 2018.

Since the Irish and Syrian fighters first collided almost 4 years ago, Fleury went 5-3 in his next 8 fights, primarily fighting in Bellator. Though the Tipperary native has struggled to book consistent opponents, Fleury has displayed steady improvements to his game in recent years. “The Raw Bastard” rides a two-fight win streak into this title bout.

Meanwhile, Suleiman went 6-2, with a 100% finish rate in the fights he won. Though Suleiman captured gold and still remains the most recent UAE Warriors Light Heavyweight Champion, the 32-year-old has not fought at 205lbs in the six fights he has competed in since. Similar to Fleury, Suleiman will be buoyed by the momentum of a winning streak heading into their rematch, having notched back-to-back stoppages, before winning via DQ in his most recent fight.
