Brendan Allen, Kyle Daukaus, UFC on ESPN 12

Brendan Allen stays unbeaten in UFC with tough fought victory over Kyle Daukaus

The last of the Apex cards before “Fight Island,” UFC on ESPN 12 goes down tonight, Saturday, June 27. Taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, the event is headlined by former lightweight challenger Dustin Poirier and rising contender Dan Hooker. Welterweights Mickey Gall and Mike Perry will meet in the co-main event of the evening.

In  a match-up of middleweights, Brendan Allen (13-4) takes on Kyle Daukaus (9-0) who took this fight on less than two weeks notice.  Daukaus , like Allen, had fought on Dana White’s the Contender Series.  Daukaus mauled his opponent for all three rounds but was not awarded a UFC contract.  He kept himself in fighting shape hoping for a phone call and he got it and now makes his official debut on the main card… This is how the fight went down…

Round 2

Nice combination to start the round from Daukaus with a job and a cross and then he looks for the take-down and gets it but Allen slithers right out into the reverse.  Allen controls most of the round on top.  Kyle does score a reverse as Allen was looking for a guillotine and is on top but the escape level of Allen is high. Daukaus is bleeding pretty bad and ends the round on the bottom playing defense.
