Brendan Allen talks UFC Vegas 47 win, entering his prime and squashing beef with Sean Strickland

Brendan Allen only had days to prepare for his UFC Vegas 47 matchup with Sam Alvey.

After learning that Alvey was in need off of an opponent seven days before the fight, Allen didn’t get the official word that he was definitely fighting Alvey until about four days prior to the fight.

While there wasn’t much time to prepare, Allen still took care of business.

In the opening round, both men exchanged shots and Allen was being patience trying to figure of Alvey’s timing and tendencies. Once Allen figured it out, the fight ended quickly.

Late in the first round, Allen landed a big punch that had Alvey in trouble. Then early into the second round, Allen took over right where he left off as he landed another huge punch that knocked the spit out of Alvey’s mouth as Alvey went crumbling to the ground. Once Alvey ended up on the canvas, Allen swarmed him and was able to lock in a rear-naked choke to secure a second round submission win.

Following his victory, Allen spoke with MyMMANews about his performance and accepting the fight on short notice. He also discussed training at Sanford MMA, his management teaming being so supportive of him and a recent altercation with Sean Strickland, which has since been resolved.

You can watch his full interview in the video above.
