BYB 9 Tampa Brawl results (first ever super middleweight champ crowned)

BYB Extreme made its first fighting foray into Tampa this weekend with BYB 9 Tampa Brawl. This transpired at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

There were ten high octane bare-knuckle brawls in BYB’s patented Trigon ring. Chief among them was a battle of undefeated bare-knuckle combatants vying for the BYB 165 pound belt.

BYB 9 Tampa Brawl

In the main event, Jose “The GOAT” Fernandez cemented himself as the BYB super middleweight division’s best. He landed a flurry of punches and scored a stoppage in the fourth frame of the fight over JD “The Berzerker” Burns.

In the co-feature of BYB 9 Tampa Brawl, the versatile veteran Erin Toughill proved too much for 2015 USA Women’s National Golden Gloves champion Sonya Dreiling. Toughill asserted herself as the ring general throughout and earned the unanimous decision victory.

Tony Lopez’s experience, pace, and reach proved too much for Josh “The Hammer” Burns. He bloodied up Burns and scored a clear unanimous decision. Lopez took the fight on a week’s notice after Burns’ initial two opponents had to pull out due to medical and personal emergencies.
