Carla Esparza vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk added as UFC 185 co-main event
Newly crowned UFC women’s strawweight champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza will make her first UFC title defense while serving as the co-main event at UFC 185 in Dallas.
Esparza will defend the title which she won after outlasting all the other 115-pound ladies on season 20 of the Ultimate Fighter, TUF 20, the same night Anthony Pettis will defend his lightweight title against Rafael dos Anjos.
Esparza defeated Rose Namajunas in the finale of TUF 20 in December. Esparza is a 10-2 professionally and is also the former Invicta strawweight champion as well.
Jedrzejczyk is 8-0 professionally and 2-0 in the UFC, with decision wins over Juliana Lima and Claudia Gadelha.
UFC 185 in Dallas, Texas, March 14th is shaping up to be a fantastic fight card.
Yesterday heavy hitters Sam Stout and Ross Pearson were slated to fight one another as well.
