Chatri Sityodtong on promotion’s 10-year anniversary: “ONE has surpassed my wildest dreams”

ONE Championship is a Singaporean mixed martial arts, grappling, kickboxing and Muay Thai promotion company. It was founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Chatri Sityodtong and former ESPN Star Sports senior executive Victor Cui. ONE’s inaugural event, ONE FC 1: Champion vs. Champion, took place on September 3, 2011 and now in 2022 the promotion is closing in on nearly 200 event.

During the post-event press conference of ONE: Lights Out last Friday, March 11, Sityodtong spoke with International Business Times sports editor and combat sports analyst Nissi Icasiano to talk about the success of his organization.

“In many ways, ONE has surpassed my wildest dreams in terms of how fast the exponential growth has been,” Sityodtong stated.

“It just blows my mind that in 10 years, we have the most incredible roster,” he continued. “I’m speaking as a life-long martial artist. It’s just incredible. It blows my mind that our roster has the most number of world champions in martial arts across all the various disciplines of any organization in the world.”

Chatri Sityodtong and ONE Championship officials will hold ONE: X on March 26 to celebrate the promotion’s 10-year anniversary and continued success.

ONE X: Grand Finale will broadcast live on pay-per-view at 8 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT)/8 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Saturday, 26 March.
