Cian Cowley

After second KO, Cian Cowley looks for quick turnaround at Brave 20

Cian Cowley wasted no time in getting his second professional win, last friday, during the historical Brave 18, held in Manama, Bahrain. The Ireland representative overwhelmed Hardeep Rai with a barrage of leg kicks, eventually crumbling his opponent for a first-round TKO, the second in his Brave Combat Federation career. And right after the fight, Cowley revealed he wanted to compete one more time in 2018.

Through his social media accounts, “The Warrior” called on Brave president Mohammed Shahid to sign him on to fight at Brave 20, which will mark the return of the fastest-rising MMA promotion to India.

“Another first-round finish last night for Brave CF. Thank you to every single one of you who support me. I see it all and I am truly grateful. My training and mindset are evolving rapidly and I’ve surrounded myself with real ones only. This is the life I’ve always wanted to live. I will go all the way with this and I won’t stop. Thank you, everyone! Mohammed Shahid, let me go again on December 22nd?”, said Cowley, mentioning the date for Brave 20.

Cowley and Rai knew each other way back when they fought in the same weight class at the 2015 IMMAFED World Amateur Championships, as they both went back with bronze medals. “The Warrior” knew that he was in for a dangerous fight and explained what was the game plan put together by SBG Ireland and also assessed his performance:

“It went great. I stayed safe throughout, and the gameplan was to get in and out and do damage. He was a legit opponent, very experienced in the amateur circuit and I’m happy with my performance. I don’t get paid to do over time (laughs). I’m very grateful for the opportunity to compete at Brave”.

Brave 20 will take place in Hyderabad, India, on December 22nd. It is the second time Brave Combat Federation lands in India following an action-packed Brave 5, back in april of 2017.
