Claressa Shields plans to break Abigail Montes’ jaw at PFL 10

Boxer-turned-MMA fighter Claressa Shields says she plans to break Abigail Montes’ jaw later this month when they fight at PFL 10.

Shields made her at PFL 4 in June when she finished Brittany Elkin in the third round via TKO. It was far from the most impressive MMA debut we’ve ever seen as Shields struggled badly with the grappling of her opponent in the first two rounds. However, she showed that she is an elite athlete in the third round. Once her opponent got tired, Shields was able to get a dominant position and finish her with strikes for her first official victory in MMA. It was a huge confidence booster for Shields as she continues her MMA journey, and we’ll see her step back into the cage on October 27 when she fights Montes at the PFL 10 event.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Shields spoke about her upcoming matchup against the 2-0 Montes. As far as Shields is concerned, she’s going to go in there and put the hurting on her opponent and break her jaw.

“People keep saying to me that Abigail isn’t going to be a challenge to me and all this crazy stuff. Like she’s a decorated amateur kickboxer. So it’s like, even though she only has two fights in MMA, she’s been kickboxing for I don’t know how many years in Mexico. And she comes forward with a lot of punches, so we’re definitely going to see a very entertaining fight. But I know that I’m going to handle business and I’m going to break Abigail’s jaw, for sure,” Shields said.

While Shields faced a grappler in her first MMA fight, she is now facing a striker, so it will be interesting to see if she is able to keep this fight standing and show off her world-class boxing skills against Montes.

Do you think Claressa Shields will break the jaw of Abigail Montres at PFL 10?
