Cody Law previews his Bellator 282 matchup against James Gonzalez

Cody Law has been nothing but impressive since making his professional debut within the Bellator promotion.

After a perfect 6-0 start with five wins coming by way of a stoppage, Bellator decided its about time to give Law a spot in the featherweight rankings.

Now Law sits at No. 9 in the official Bellator featherweight rankings and for him that doesn’t really mean too much as the only ranking he cares about is champion, however the American Top Team prospect is aware of what does come with a ranking as he is finally getting a step up in competition.

In a fews at Bellator 282 on June 24, Law will have his seventh professional fight against James Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has double the fights as Law and while his record is 8-5, he has faced high level guys and has a win over current UFC fighter Pat Sabatini.

While some might start to feel some pressure, Law is as cool as the other side of the pillow as he believes that as the competition rises, he’ll perform at an even higher level.

Prior to the fight, Law once again spoke with MyMMANews to discuss the matchup, having former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier as a sparing partner for the camp and a few hot topics around the MMA world.

You can watch his full interview in the video above.
