Fighters hit the scale and faced off today, one day before Combate Americas’ live televised, nine-bout MMA extravaganza at Freeman Coliseum, live on television in the U.S. on Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN (12 a.m ET/9 p.m. PT), and in Mexico on Televisa (11 p.m. CT) tomorrow, Friday October 18, 2019.
The weigh-in event was also streamed live via Facebook Watch. Tomorrow’s preliminary bout card will also stream live on Facebook Watch before the main card television broadcast.
Main event opponents Eduardo “El Pube” Alvarado (8-5) and Costa Rican Andre Barquero (6-2) weighed in at 140 pounds and 140.5 pounds respectively ahead of their 140 pound catchweight battle.
In the highly anticipated women’s strawweight matchup which will feature the MMA debut of former Lucha Underground television series competitor and professional wrestling star Melissa “Thunder Rosa” Cervantes (0-0), Cervantes weighed in at 114.1 pounds while her opponent, Nadine “Too Much” Mandiau (0-1) weighed in at 116 pounds.
Wrapping up the main card, Lackland AFB Staff Sergeant Chris “Dirty Texas” Cortez (2-1) weighed 129.4 pounds while two-time kickboxing champion Oscar “Jacare” Souza (4-3) weighed 130.8 pounds ahead of their 130 pound catchweight featured bout.
