The new contract for the Ultimate Fighter Season 11 winner may come as a surprise, as the 36-year-old fighter from Utah has not seen his name appear in the win column very often as of late.

McGee, who has been with the UFC since 2010, has just four wins his last 10 outings with the promotion.  His most recent success was a unanimous decision win over Claudio Silva in May.  Prior to that, McGee dropped three straight decisions to Dhiego Lima, Sean Brady, and former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit.

No official date or opponent for McGee’s next fight has been announced.

As a recovering heroin addict, McGee actively gives talks on anti drug campaigns to teenagers and launched online “Hope 361” project to help addicts to the path of recovery. Since April 2006, McGee has been clean and uses his story to encourage those who may be struggling with addictions of their own.
