Cris Cyborg relinquishes Invicta FC belt, interim featherweight champ Megan Anderson claims position
At the top of the Invicta FC 22 broadcast on UFC Fight Pass it was announced that Invicta Fighting Championship’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg Justino relinquished her title.
Having fought her last two professional mixed martial arts fights in the UFC, Justino relinquishes her belt to interim champ Megan Anderson.
Anderson claimed the interim belt in January with a TKO win over Charmaine Tweet at Invicta FC 21.
Justino was recently serving a suspension for a banned substance but the ruling was overturned and she is expected to return to the octagon shortly. ‘Cyborg’ was granted a retroactive Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) and will therefore not face an anti-doping policy violation after testing positive for a prohibited substance in December of 2016.
No fighter has yet been named as Anderson’s next opponent.
