Cris Cyborg pleads not guilty to battery charges for Angela Magana punch

Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino has pleaded not guilty to a battery charge that was brought against her last month after an incident at the UFC Athlete Retreat in Las Vegas.

‘Justino,’ a featherweight fighter, punched Angela Magana who fights in the strawweight division, May 21, after she confronted Magana about comments on social media. Video of the incident can be seen here.

New UFC owners WME-IMG hosted a weekend event in Las Vegas for all talent on their roster. That’s where Magana ran into Justino. Police were called to the incident.

If convicted, Cyborg faces up to 6 months in jail. She’s due back in court in August.

She faces Megan Anderson for the UFC featherweight title July 29 in Anaheim, California.
