Cro Cop vs. Gonzaga 2 to headline UFC Poland
The UFC has announced three new European dates to include a UFC Poland event on April 11.
The card will be headlined by the newly re-signed Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic vs. Gabriel Gonzaga.
Cro Cop lost his first outing to Gonzaga way back at UFC 70 in April, 2007. The knockout that “Napao” Gonzaga delivered was a vicious head kick that immediately drop the Croatian and awkwardly twisting his leg as he fell. It will forever be remembered as one of the greatest knockouts in UFC history as the same kick that the Brazilian delivered was one that had scored Cro Cop many of his own victories. He was done in with a taste of his own medicine.
Since that time, Gonzaga (16-9), has fought 16 more times. His last two fights were losses to Matt Mitrione and Stipe Miocic.
Cro Cop (30-11-2-1) however is on a two-fight win streak with both wins coming over Satoshi Ishii in Japan.
The other two newly announced European dates include a return trip to Berlin, Germany on June 20, and the organization’s first trip to Scotland on July 18.
