Curtis Blaydes is getting what he asked for.
Blaydes called dibs on fighting Derrick Lewis next after “The Black Beast” finished Alexey Oleynik via TKO in the UFC Fight Night 174 headliner on Aug. 8. Blaydes and Lewis will feature as a heavyweight headliner for UFC’s event on Nov. 28.

First reported by ESPN, the location and venue is to be decided.
Breaking: Curtis Blaydes (@RazorBlaydes265) vs. Derrick Lewis (@Thebeast_ufc) will headline UFC Fight Night on 11/28, location TBD. Blaydes asked for it, knows Lewis is a fan favorite and wants to build momentum. Lewis was down, wanted time to get in peak shape. Should be good.

Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis
Blaydes is currently on a four-fight win streak, most recently earning a unanimous-decision victory against Alexander Volkov at UFC on ESPN 11 in July. It marked his second fight of 2020 after finishing Junior dos Santos via second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 166 back in January.
He also picked up wins against Shamil Abdurakhimov and Justin Willis.
Lewis is fresh off his win over Oleynik, making it three-consecutive wins for the 35-year-old. Lewis’ stoppage was his first finish since October 2018. He earned back-to-back decision wins over Ilir Latifi and Blagoy Ivanov after two-straight stoppage losses to dos Santos and Daniel Cormier.
