Derrick Lewis drops Alexey Oleinik in UFC Vegas 6 headliner

The UFC APEX will play host again for UFC on ESPN+ 32 tonight, Saturday, Aug. 8.

Both coming off two-straight wins, heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Alexey Oleinik are set to headline the event.

With back-to-back decision nods against Ilir Latifi and Blagoy Ivanov, Lewis is looking to come out aggressive in the opening round. he is .500 in his last four bots with losses to former champions Daniel Cormier and Junior Dos Santos.

Oleinik is entering his third fight of a busy 2020. He is fresh off a split-decision win against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 249 on May 9. It marked his second-consecutive win, coming off a second-round arm bar over Maurice Green at UFC 246 on February 18.

ROUND 1

Lewis goes for a head kick and lets his hands go. Oleinik throws back and Lewis goes right into the clinch. Oleinik looks for an ezekial choke with his back against the cage. Lewis rag dolls Oleinik to the mat. Lewis quickly goes into mount and reigns down ground and pound. The weight advantage for Lewis is showing early. Oleinik is able to shrimp out, Lewis in half guard. Lewis laying on top of Oleinik, keep his opponent’s back flat. Oleinik able to the get the leg and reverses Lewis. Oleinik is on top, Oleinik moves toward Lewis’ head, trying to get a choke, Lewis is able to escape. Lewis reverses and is on top and lands some punches. Referee Herb Dean warns Lewis about backs to the head. Lewis keeps pressure on, but Oleinik reverses the position again. Oleinik goes for another choke, lewis holding on. Lewis pressing his arms up to try and create space and defend the choke. Oleinik lets go of the choke and is in side control. Oleinik looks for americana and the bell sounds.

Oleinik throws front leg kick. Lewis lands a looping right and puts Oleinik down. Lewis jumps on top and starts landing hammer fists on Oleinik. Dean is forced to step in
