Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 5, Week 8 Results
Dana White’s Contender Series rolls on tonight with the eighth episode of season five. The event takes place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
In the featured bout, Jonny Parsons meets eight-time CFFC veteran Solomon Renfro.
Parsons, who fights out of Syndicate MMA, originally missed weight, but on his second attempt, he stepped on the scale at 171 pound, making the fight official.
Also fighting on the card will Piera Rodriguez, who claimed the vacant LFA strawweight championship in her last outing. The unbeaten Venezuelan takes on streaking Brazilian Valesca Machado. Rodriguez is looking to join Loopy Godinez and Vanessa Demopoulos as former LFA strawweight champions in the UFC.
So far this season, UFC president Dana White has awarded 28 contracts, which averages out to four contracts a week.
Tonight’s fights will be streamed live on ESPN+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
