American Top Team’s Desmond Moore and Gracie 717’s Blaine Shutt (both 5-1) were destined to fight at one point or another in their careers. The question was “When.”
Finally these two top flyweights will come together at Saturday night’s WCC 17 at the Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Moore spoke with MyMMANews before the fight to clear up some comments that his opponent in Shutt had to make the night prior. Moore disagrees that Shutt is better in every aspect of mixed martial arts and believes that he gets the job done.
Also, Moore praises coaches Carmelo Marrero and Steve Mocco for his continued success in the sport.
Marrero, a UFC and Bellator Veteran has retired from the sport of mixed martial arts but did so wearing the WCC heavyweight title which he captured at WCC III in 2010.
Mocco, a well-known and accomplished collegiate wrestler also holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 5-1 like his student in Moore. Mocco also competed for the United States in the 2008 Olympics.
