Iconic Canadian MMA promotion lands deal with UFC Fight Pass
UFC FIGHT PASS® announced today a worldwide deal with president of TALION Sports Entertainment Inc., and former TKO MMA promoter, Stephane Patry to add the newly resurrected Canadian mixed martial arts promotion to its ever-growing live-event offering.
TKO MMA will debut its first live event on UFCFIGHTPASS.com with TKO 36: The Return on Friday, November 4, 2016 from TOHU Cité des Arts du Cirque in Montreal, Canada. UFC FIGHT PASS acquired the TKO MMA fight library in 2015. Subscribers can watch the historic fight catalogue here.
“The addition of TKO MMA adds another layer to UFC FIGHT PASS’ unbeatable value,” UFC® Senior Vice-President and UFC FIGHT PASS General Manager Eric Winter said. “The same organization that helped develop numerous UFC stars will now usher in the next wave of Canadian talent, and MMA fans worldwide can catch all the action on UFC FIGHT PASS.”
Formerly known as UCC, TKO MMA was a staple of Canadian MMA in the early-to-mid 2000s and helped launch the careers of pioneers Georges St-Pierre, Patrick Cote, Mark Hominick and Sam Stout, as well as current UFC light heavyweight Steve Bosse. Over the course of its run, the promotion also featured names like former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk and former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber.
“I am thrilled that TKO MMA will be able to reach a global audience through UFC FIGHT PASS,” Patry said. “TKO MMA and its athletes now represent Canadian MMA on the world’s greatest digital destination for fight fans.”
TKO MMA will stage an additional five events through 2017, all of which will be available on UFC FIGHT PASS.
