Danis, known as a high-level jiu-jitsu practitioner, fought twice for the promotion, earning first-round submission victories in bought contests.
The 30-year-old “El Jefe” had not competed with Bellator MMA since 2019 but remained under contract with the promotion during the extended period of inactivity.
Last weekend Danis returned to competition, losing a decision in a boxing bout against Logan Paul. Danis was highly criticized for inactivity during the contest.
