Dominick Reyes says he’s not surprised by Jon Jones latest arrest

Dominick Reyes isn’t surprised that Jon Jones got arrested once again.

A week ago, news trickled out last Thursday morning that Jones had been arrested for DWI and two other charges. It is no doubt a bad look for “Bones” who had been tweeting to people to stay inside during the COVID-19 pandemic but broke his own advice.

Now, following the arrest, many fans and fighters gave their opinion on it. But, for Jones’ most recent foe in Dominick Reyes, he says the arrest should not be surprising to anyone.

“The arrest comes at no surprise to anyone; his pattern of habitual line stepping is apparent,” Reyes told FanSided. “I think he needs some real help.”

Dominick Reyes fought Jon Jones in February at UFC 247 where Bones edged out a split decision win. Many thought “The Devastator” should have got his hand raised. For Reyes, he wants a rematch. But, he says if Jones is stripped he should get a shot at the vacant belt.

“I still know I was the better fighter that night,” he said. “I want a rematch, but if he is out of the picture, I feel I have earned another title shot.”

Since the arrest, Thiago Santos called for a title shot against Reyes. Jan Blachowicz, meanwhile, also says he deserves a crack at the vacant belt.

But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no one can really train properly so when the sport will be back in action is to be seen. But, Reyes says he is still training and still training as he normally does due to the fact he has private facilities.

“Well, it hasn’t really impacted my training regime because most of my training is private as a championship contender,” he said. “It also helps that I have my own facilities.”

In the end, Dominick Reyes isn’t surprised Jon Jones got arrested again and hopes it results in a title shot for him.
