Drex Zamboanga has sights set on Christian Lee
Undefeated at 2-0 with ONE Championship, rising star Drex Zamboanga has his sights set on a new target.
After a crushing first round finish of Rahul Raju at ONE: Full Circle on February 25, the 28-year-old Zamboanga eyes a matchup with former lightweight champion Christian Lee.
“I’ve been watching his fights from way back, and I feel like we’d have an interesting match skill-wise,” said Zamboanga.
The Filipino fighter known as “T-Rex” first burst onto the ONE Championship scene with a second-round submission victory over Detchadin Sorsirisuphathin in 2020. His sister, Denice Zamboanga, has been with ONE since 2019 and has a record of 3-1 with the promotion. She is scheduled to meet Seo Hee Ham at ONE: X on March 26.
Lee, who was riding a six-fight win-streak prior to his most recent outing against Rae Yoon Ok, has spent his entire career fighting for ONE Championship. Beginning with his debut in February 2015, Lee has now fought 19 times from the Singapore based promotion. His record now stands at 15-4.
No word yet as to whether ONE officials are interested in putting together a contest between Drex Zamboanga and Christian Lee, but it certainly is fight that would interest the fans.
