UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos will defend his title against number one contender, former Bellator champion, Eddie Alvarez, July 7 on UFC Fight Pass. Eddie Alvarez gets UFC title shot

Dos Anjos (25-7) was supposed to defend his title against UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor back at UFC 196 on March 5 but pulled out due to a foot injury.

His last title defense was in December when he TKO’s Donald Cerrone in little more than one minute’s time.

He is currently riding a five fight win-streak and sits at the number number six spot in UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Alvarez (27-4) has back to back split decision wins over Gilbert Melendez and former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.  He is currently the number one ranked UFC lightweight.
