Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell set for upcoming UFC Fight Night card

An exciting matchup pitting veteran UFC featherweight contender Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell is set for an upcoming UFC Fight Night card.

MMAjunkie.com was the first to report the Barboza vs. Mitchell fight for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card set for March 5. There are no other details known about this card at the moment. It is also unclear if this fight between Barboza and Mitchell will be set for a five-round main event or if it will be a regular three-round fight. Either way, it is an excellent match between two of the sport’s top featherweights.

Barboza (22-10) is the No. 10 ranked featherweight in the UFC. The 35-year-old Brazilian is coming off of a TKO loss to Giga Chikadze in his last fight to snap a two-fight winning streak. Barboza has been in the UFC for over a decade now and he continues to put on exciting fights. Although he lost to Chikadze in his last fight, he remains one of the top-ranked featherweights in the UFC. If Barboza is able to go in there and hand Mitchell his first professional loss, it will show that he is still a real title contender at 145lbs.

Mitchell (14-0) is the No. 11 ranked featherweight in the UFC. The 27-year-old American is a perfect 5-0 in the UFC but he has not fought since an October 2020 win over Andre Fili. Mitchell is one of the best grapplers in the UFC featherweight division and if he is able to go out there and beat someone as highly ranked and respected as Barboza is, it would say a lot about where Mitchell is at this point in his career. Overall this is a well-matched fight between two of the very best fighters the 145lbs division has to offer.

Who do you think wins this featherweight fight between Edson Barboza and Bryce Mitchell?
