Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is injured and has been forced to withdraw from his UFC Denver headlining bout against the Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung on November 10.
Edgar’s injury is reportedly to this left bicep and is not expected to require surgery. He is hoping to return in early 2019.
UFC President Dana White told ESPN earlier today that Yair Rodriguez has stepped up to fill the void on the UFC’s 25th anniversary show.
Rodriguez (10-2), 26, hasn’t fought since he suffered a TKO loss to Edgar in May 2017.
The UFC Fight Night event is scheduled to take place at Pepsi Center in Denver.
