Full Cage Warriors “Double Trouble” Weigh-In Results
Cage Warriors return for the final time in 2021 with a pair of back-to-back cards, donned “Double Trouble.” On Friday night, middleweight champion Matthew “The Beast” Bonner (10-6-1) will defend his belt for the first time against the undefeated Djati Melan (7-0) in the main event of Cage Warriors 131. The co-main event should have seen George Hardwick (8-1) and Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar (5-0-1) compete for the vacant lightweight title, however, the bout was scrapped on Friday afternoon after Ben Lakhdhar tested positive for COVID-19.
On Saturday night, bantamweight champion Dominique “Black Panther” Wooding (8-4) makes his first title defense against Cage Warriors newcomer Carlos Abreu (9-3) in the CW132 main event. Similar to CW131, where there should have been two championship contests, now there is one. After a controversial first fight on CW129, flyweight champion Sam “Urai” Creasey (15-3) was set to rematch Luke “The Apocalypse” Shanks (8-3) to establish an undisputable champion once and for all. For the second time in as many fights, Shanks missed weight, and so Creasey’s title will no longer be on the line.
