Grant Dawson talks upcoming fight and moving to American Top Team

Grant Dawson has 19 fights under his belt and in a few days he’ll fight in his 20th professional bout. While he has seen a lot in his career, he is currently in new territory.

For Dawson, this marks his first fight in a new camp as he recently made the decision to head south to American Top Team and begin training there under the great MMA coach Mike Brown.

Prior to the move to Florida, Dawson trained in Missouri at Glory MMA for eight years. While is was difficult to leave Glory MMA, Dawson believes the move to American Top Team is one of the greatest decisions of his career.

Both gyms have great coaches and training partners, but Dawson thinks American Top Team is filled with more high level talent. Not only is Dawson seeing his game get better and better each day at practice, but the sunny warm weather has also made an impact on his career.

While at Glory MMA, Dawson often found himself getting sick due to the change of weather in the midwest, but now with a controlled climate, Dawson has never felt better heading to a fight.

On April 30 at UFC Vegas 30, the world will see what Dawson has been working on since his move to ATT when he takes on Jared Gordon in a lightweight matchup.

Prior to the fight, Dawson spoke with in depth with MyMMANews about his move to ATT, his matchup with Gordon, fighting at lightweight and his love for anime and Star Wars.
