Howler Head, UFC’s official flavored bourbon partner, wins gold at 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition
The 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition has awarded a coveted Gold Medal to Howler Head Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey with Natural Banana Flavor. This is Howler Head’s first entry in the prestigious competition and an outstanding result in the crowded and competitive Flavored Whiskey category.
Howler Head is the official flavored Bourbon whiskey partner of UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, and is one of the fastest-growing whiskey brands in the world – flavored or unflavored. “I loved Howler Head the first time I ever tasted it,” said UFC President Dana White. “Now, to have a group of industry experts, including bar owners, bartenders, and spirit editors, award it a Gold Medal really validates what I have been saying about this whiskey for years. I am proud and honored that Howler Head won the Gold Medal at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.” The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) is the largest and oldest spirits competition in the world, receiving nearly 5,000 entries across multiple categories.
Each category is judged by a panel of 36 esteemed industry experts awarding top prizes only to the best of the best.

It starts with real, handcrafted Bourbon made with the finest grains and mineral-rich water. The resulting Bourbon is then aged for two years in charred American white oak barrels. Following the aging, the fine Bourbon is then blended with natural banana flavor.
With Howler Head being one of the rare 80-proof flavored whiskeys, the Bourbon takes the spotlight, with a subtle sweet kick of banana on the finish. It is best served neat or on the rocks to appreciate the rich Bourbon flavor but can also be enjoyed as a flavorful shot, paired with a beer or a hard seltzer, and in cocktails.
