Ludovit Klein faces late replacement Mason Jones at UFC London

Ignacio Bahamondes out, Ludovit Klein faces late replacement Mason Jones at UFC London

UFC London, going down this weekend on July 23, 2022, live from the o2 Arena in London, England is an absolutely stacked event of fights.

Some of those match ups showcase Curtis Blaydes vs Tom Aspinall in the main event, Jack Hermansson vs Chris Curtis in the co-main event, Paddy Pimblett vs Jordan Leavitt, Nikita Krylov vs Alexander Gustafsson, Paul Craig vs Volkan Oezdemir, amongst many others.

That’s not even the entire main card mentioned above.

As some of you may have heard by now, one of those fights fell through, a lightweight scrap between Ignacio Bahamondes and Ludovit Klein, as Bahamondes withdrew from the bout with an undisclosed injury.

However, the late replacement is just as exciting of an encounter, as former Cage Warriors champ-champ fills in to face Klein this weekend at UFC London.

Jones came to the UFC in January of 2021, where he lost a razor-thin unanimous decision to Mike Davis, before dominating Alan Patrick in his next bout. Only an accidental eye poke rendered Patrick unable to continue, and it resulted in a no contest.

By this point, Jones was 10-1 (1 NC) when he could’ve so easily been 12-0 going into his fight with undefeated David Onama. Jones won this fight via unanimous decision and comes into this fight nine months later.

Klein impressed us all with his UFC debut KO win over Shane Young, becoming the only man to ever finish him.

This was however followed up by back-to-back defeats to Mike Trizano (UD) and Nate Landwehr (anaconda choke), before he’d rebound with a win over a knockout artist in Devonte Smith (SD) in his return to 155 lbs.

Who do you see coming out on top in this lightweight encounter at UFC London?  Will it be Ludovit Klein or Mason Jones?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
