Jake Paul “not surprised” he’s the betting favorite against Tyron Woodley for boxing match
YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is “not surprised” that he’s the betting favorite against Tyron Woodley for their boxing match.
Paul and Woodley meet in the boxing ring on August 29 in Cleveland, Ohio, in what is expected to be one of the biggest blockbuster boxing matches of the summer. Paul has won all three of his pro boxing matches so far while Woodley will be making his pro boxing debut in this fight. With Paul coming off of a knockout win over Woodley’s longtime friend and training partner, Ben Askren, there is a lot of bad blood here between the two, and they are expected to throw down in what should be an exciting fight for as long as it lasts.
According to the sportsbooks, Paul is actually the betting favorite to defeat Woodley despite the fact “The Chosen One” is a former UFC welterweight champion who made a career out of knocking out his foes in the Octagon. Although some fans might be surprised to see Paul as the betting favorite, “The Problem Child” says he’s not. According to Paul in a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the fact he’s the favorite shows that the books have done their homework on him.
“I’m not surprised. I think people can sniff through the weeds and see the talent and see the knockout power. But it is funny to me that I am the favorite, and people will still say to me, ‘Oh, you’re not a boxer, you’re not an actual professional.’ This guy Tyron’s been boxing way longer than me and he has way more experience under the lights. And so the fact that I’m the favorite is awesome and it’s funny,” Paul said. “People have made good money on me the last few fights as well… I’m going to make people some (more) money.
