Jakub Dohnal

Having been with Oktagon MMA since the Summer of 2018, can you speak to the growth of the company since then as you’ve also grown as a fighter leading into Oktagon 47?
“Yes, Oktagon became bigger and bigger. Of course I have to be also better fighter which every fight. So when I started it was in a reality show the Oktagon Challenge and from this is very big improve in organization and also me.”
Pivoting towards your opponent at Oktagon 47 here, what are your thoughts on what he brings to the table?
What are some of Ivan Buchinger’s better skills from what you’ve seen from him?
“Buchinger, he you know; he’s the best in Czechoslovakia. When I was younger he was like for me something on the level I won’t go there, at this level. Now I’m at this level and I want to show everybody that I am better than him. I want to show everybody that I am different level than Buchinger but all respect to him. He’s very decent. He’s a very, very good guy, I like him. We train also together and I can’t say bad words about him really. I have all respect for him but I want to show everybody that I’m different level than him.”

Do you have a predominant visualization for how you see this Oktagon 47 fight ending?
“I work about my mind about visualizing every fight. I writing everything on my book. From first round till third round I’m writing everything, good things bad things. We have plan for this guy but you know every fight have plan but with me it’s a little harder. Because when fight start nobody know what I do with me, including me. But I want. What to say? I can fighting with him on ground. Can fighting with him on stand up. I can wrestle with him. It’s really for me doesn’t matter.”
Jakub Dohnal continued, “I prepare for everything what happen this fight. This is also what was in my visualization. I am really; I don’t know what can happen. Don’t know really. I’m prepared for everything. Just I have to hope this Saturday will be my good day, not bad day. Because sometimes have everybody bad day in work and this is a little what I scare. But it will be good day, I prepare for everything. I can’t lose this fight.”
