James Lyons discusses Tim Cuamba: “Hurt him with some strikes and then submitting him”
Interview with James Lyons above
This Saturday, August 14th, Cage Fury Fighting Championship hits the road as they venture to The Magnolia State of Mississippi.
In the main event of the evening, the vacant bantamweight strap is up for grabs as Jerrell Hodge takes on Christian Rodriguez.
In a featured featherweight bout, James “LyonHeart” Lyons puts his undefeated record on the line when he takes on Tim Cuamba, who is also undefeated.
Since making the switch to John Marquez and Daniel Gracie’s MMA (EEFC), the featherweight prospect has secured two dominating first-round finishes, leaving a lasting impression with fans, opponents, and the promotion, alike. This Saturday, August 14th, Lyons plans for nothing different.
“I think on the feet, it plays out good for me and on the ground,” Lyons says. “If he (Cuamba) wants to shoot for takedowns, that’s good for me, I think. I’m never going to NOT enjoy a grappling match,” he continues. But on the feet, I think I have the power and I think I’m going to throw the shots that are going to hurt.”
With his momentum in high gear, Lyons predicts he’ll take out his 3rd straight opponent in the first round after “hurting him with some strikes and then submitting him”, as he continues his hunt for CFFC featherweight gold.
I think this time next year, I’ll have the belt if all goes well. Get to 4-0 at the end of this year. Rack up a few at the beginning of next year and hopefully by the summer, I’ll have the belt for CFFC.”
