Jared Gooden plans to finish UFC Vet Michael Graves in Titan FC 53 title bout
Jared Gooden (13-2) discusses his interim welterweight title fight against Michael Graves (7-1-2) at Titan FC 53 on March 15.
Jared also talks about having a short turnaround for this title fight, training five rounds and missing weight in his last bout. Although a newcomer to Titan FC, Gooden was immediately thrown into title contention.
“They wanted me to fight for the title in my first fight for them (Titan FC) which shows you how much they respect my skill and my record any everything,” Gooden said.
“The champion called out like a little bitch. ‘Oh I won’t be ready for Gooden by March.’ So, Mike Graves stepped up and yeah we’re fighting for the interim belt.”
Gooden states that he is changing things up in training in preparation for this fight.
“I’ve never gone five rounds before and I still don’t plan to, you know what I mean? I’d love to get the finish, and there’s more time to finish the guy. It’s not going to judges and I’m going to finish Mike Graves.”
Although Graves will be standing across the cage, Gooden says the two are former training partners, primarily in the striking department. Gooden is confident that Graves will not stand and trade shots with him.
Titan FC 53 takes place at Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
