Jason Knight vs. Charles Bennett headlines the kickoff show for Gamebred Fighting Championship. This is an organization that will be putting on bare-knuckle mixed martial arts contests.

Jorge Masvidal detailed his plans to form this kind of promotion earlier in the calendar year and show specifics are now rolling out.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani was the first to report news on this Knight versus Bennett booking for Gamebred FC.

Knight as well as Bennett are no strangers to MMA and are also no strangers to bare-knuckle combat.

Jason Knight had a pair of all-time classic bare-knuckle boxing bouts with Artem Lobov under the BKFC banner. The two split the contests with Lobov winning the first fight at BKFC 5 and Knight securing the fifth-round finish in the BKFC 9 sequel.

After the two-fight series with Lobov, Knight returned to MMA to defeat Cliff Wright via second-round rear-naked choke at iKon Fighting Federation 5 in March.

Charles Bennett is a BKFC veteran and has close to seventy-five professional MMA bouts on his record. Though he has an 0-3 BKFC record, there is some level of context that should be brought up.

Hand injuries halted matters in the first pair of bouts and his last contest was against upcoming BKFC title challenger Tyler Goodjohn in what was a back and forth affair at BKFC 15 in December.

Still though, it’s been over four and a half years since Felony tasted victory in competitive combat. The last win that Bennett notched was against the debuting Minoru Kimura via a seven-second knockout at RIZIN Fighting World Grand Prix 2016: 1st Round in September 2016.

Gamebred FC’s inaugural show goes down in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Biloxi Community Center on June 18th. The broadcast goes live via the Bare Knuckle TV app on BKTVApp.com.
