Jessica Eye vs. Jessica-Rose Clark targeted for UFC Singapore in June

The UFC is planning a trip back to Singapore and they are planning to bring a pair of top ten flyweight contenders with them. The promotion is in the process of setting a fight between Jessica-Rose Clark and Jessica Eye for the organization’s third trip to Singapore according to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com.

The date for this UFC Singapore event will be June 23, but the venue has yet to be announced.

Jessica-Rose Clark (9-4-1) has made a splash in the UFC’s flyweight division since she jumped on to the UFC scene just six months ago. Clark has fought twice in that short amount of time and has taken out two well-known names in the women’s flyweight division, Bec Rawlings, and Paige VanZant. Riding high following her win over the popular VanZant at UFC Fight Night 124, Clark now sets her sights on a woman who is projected to be a title contender in the 125-pound division, Jessica Eye. Clark is currently ranked ninth in the official UFC rankings. With Eye ranked 10th, this could solidify Clark as a force to be reckoned with in the top ten of a growing division.

Eye (12-6) has had a tough go of it lately. She is 1-4 in her last five fights. Eye recently made the move up in weight for her last fight against Kalindra Faria. Although not her best performance, Eye won that fight via split decision and has found a comfortable home in the women’s flyweight division.

This trip to Singapore will be the first since UFC Fight Night 111, where we saw Holly Holm knockout Bethe Correia. There is no word yet if this fight will find it’s way to the main card. At this moment there is only one other fight confirmed for this Fight Night card, a women’s strawweight bout between Nadia Kassem and Xiaonan Yan.
