Joaquin Buckley vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan set for January Fight Night event

Joaquin Buckley meets Abdul Razak Alhassan

A middleweight banger between two of the division’s hardest hitters and viral KO artists will be happening on the first card of 2022.

According to the Instagram page, MMA Ideas, and been confirmed by multiple sources, Joaquin Buckley will take on Abdul Razak Alhassan on January 15. The event is the first of 2021, and will likely take place at the UFC Apex but the promotion has not confirmed a location.

Joaquin Buckley (13-4) returned to the win column last time out with a KO win over Antonio Arroyo back in September. Prior to that, he suffered a head kick KO loss to Alessio Di Chirico in January in an upset loss. The loss snapped his two-fight winning streak where he knocked out Jordan Wright and he picked up his first UFC win with the most viral KO in UFC history, which was his head kick KO win over Impa Kasanganay. In his promotional debut, he stepped up on short notice and suffered a KO loss to Kevin Holland.

Abdul Razak Alhassan (11-4) snapped his three-fight losing streak last time out as he knocked out Di Chirico in just 17 seconds with a head kick. Prior to that, he lost a decision to Jacob Malkoun in his UFC middleweight debut after being knocked out by Khaos Williams and lost a decision to Mounir Lazzez in his return to the Octagon. Before the loss to Lazzez, he was on a tear in the welterweight division, but a false accusation for rape, but him on the sidelines for two years. He holds notable knockout wins over Niko Price, Sabah Homasi, and Charlie Ward.
