The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, September 17, 2022, for UFC Vegas 60, going down live from the Apex Center in Enterprise, Nevada.

Headlining the event is a bantamweight clash, as no. 4 ranked Cory Sandhagen (14-4) faces no. 10 ranked Song Yadong (19-5-1-1) in the main event of the evening.

Co-headlining is a middleweight encounter between Chidi Njokuani (22-7) and Gregory Rodrigues (12-4).

Our first feature fight of the evening came also came in the middleweight division, this one between Alen Amedovski (8-3) and Joe Pyfer (9-2). Amedovski made his UFC debut in the Spring of 2019 with a record of 8-0, all eight wins coming via knockout, but had since suffered three-straight defeats.

Pyfer on the other hand was coming off his stunning knockout victory on Dana White’s Contender Series in July.

Official Result: Joseph Pyfer def. Alen Amedovski via KO (punch) at 3:55 of round one

Pyfer is looking very sharp early on; he’s got a nice jab, and his punches are very fluent and slick. He also has some serious power on some of them. Pyfer controls the center of the octagon and lands a thunderous two-punch combination that stuns Amedovski.

Not long after that he lands an even more vicious right hand that sits Amedovski straight down, stopping the fight in the opening round. What a UFC debut, as Joseph Pyfer improves his record to 10-2.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
