Joe Solecki

Joe Solecki discusses his upcoming fight against Alex da Silva at UFC Vegas 56

Joe Solecki finds himself in new territory for the first time in his UFC career.

After starting off his career with three straight wins, including a win over the UFC all times wins leader Jim Miller, Solecki suffered his first UFC loss in his last outing when Jared Gordon edged out Solecki on the judges scorecards by a split decision.

Now Solecki is looking to bounce back into the win when he returns to the octagon to take on Alex da Silva at UFC Vegas 56.

Solecki admits the loss stung, especially since it was winnable and one judge even scored the fight his favor. Following the loss, Solecki tried not to be too hard on himself and he got back inside the gym and started working hard to come back better than ever.

As Solecki hit the gym, he also stayed competitive following the loss.

In December, Solecki faced UFC legend and fan favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in a grappling match at Fury Pro Grappling 3. In their matchup, Solecki was able to secure the win by way of a rear naked choke.

Prior to his upcoming fight at UFC Vegas 56 on June 4, Solecki spoke with MyMMANews about coming back from his first UFC loss, his grappling match with Cerrone and his preparation for his fight against Silva.
