Jon Jones: "I am never replying to Chuck Liddell calling me out again"

Jon Jones: “I am never replying to Chuck Liddell calling me out again”

The battle between former UFC light heavyweight champions Jon Jones and Chuck Liddell might be one of the stranger feuds in present day MMA.

Though you will probably never see the two face each other inside the cage, the verbal warfare they have engaged in on social media might lead you to believe otherwise.

This strange rivalry began not long ago, when Liddell stated in a interview he wanted to fight Jones someday.

In that same interview, Liddell also said Jones could stand to learn a lesson from him.

Of course to nobody’s surprise, Jones did not take too kindly to the Iceman’s remarks, which led to Jones not only bringing Liddell’s character into question, but also his ability to still perform inside the cage.

Following Liddell’s loss to long time nemesis and fellow MMA legend Tito Ortiz in their trilogy bout this past Saturday, which was his first contest in eight years, Jones took the opportunity to once again address Liddell via his Twitter, this time posing the question if the pure hypothetical rumors of a fight with the UFC Hall of Famer were truly dead.

“Yeah, it’s official,” Jones wrote. “I am never replying to Chuck calling me out again.”

Jones also seized the moment to call out an old rival of his own, fellow former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, who was working as a analyst for the Liddell-Ortiz 3 broadcast.

According to Jones, he says he was more impressive physically in the clash with Ovince Saint Preux , and proceeded to rip Evans while dismissing the accusation.
