Jonas Bilharinho hopes Dana White gives him second chance after highlight-reel KO snub on Contender Series

Featherweight prospect Jonas Bilharinho is hoping Dana White gives him a second chance after his highlight-reel KO snub on Contender Series.

Bilharinho scored arguably the greatest knockout of the season when he finished Canaan Kawaihae at the final Contender Series of the year. However, up until the final KO blow, the fight was not very entertaining. So despite scoring an amazing knockout in the final minute of the bout, the overall fight was not very exciting, and White decided to pass on offering the Brazilian a UFC contract.

Speaking to AG Fight, Bilharinho admitted that he was shocked that White passed on signing him. However, he believes that he will still end up in the UFC, and he hopes White changes his mind.

“When the news came I was astonished, I lost my ground. It was as if he had been tripped and the ground never reached. I was falling for a while, but when I fell, I stood up. I was lost but not disappointed. Then I connected one point to another, seeing people coming together and seeing agreement. It was really cool. The time for my contract will come. Either because he changed his mind or because I ran over my next opponent. Now my hiring will be a kind of redemption,” Bilharinho said.

“If I could go back in time and make Dana choose me, I wouldn’t. The moment you’re hired will be a blast. This is a wonderful thing. People don’t understand, they’re having emotional reactions against Dana. We have to think about what it’s worth. Now either I’ll fight for the LFA belt, or I’ll fight again in Contender, or Dana White will change his mind. That’s basically it. I hope it’s the third option, but I’m not expecting it. Whatever it is, I’ll do my best,”

Do you hope Dana White gives Jonas Bilharinho a second chance and gives him a UFC contract?
