Jordan Espinosa Makes UFC debut vs. Eric Shelton in Nashville
Flyweights, Jordan Espinosa (13-5) and Eric “Showtime” Shelton (12-5) have agreed to meet at UFC on ESPN+ 6.
The event takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 23. The main event will pit Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson against former Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.
“Chino” Espinosa earned his UFC contract on the strength of a four-fight win streak, that included a pair of wins on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series over both Nick Urso and Riley Dutro. The Luttrell/Yee MMA product has nine finishes, seven via submission. “Chino” had been set to make his promotional debut at the UFC Fight Night 139 against Mark De La Rosa, but an injury derailed those plans.
Shelton, a cast member from TUF 24 Tournament of Champions, is two up and three down inside the octagon, with decision wins over Janel Lausa and Joseph Morales. During TUF 24, Shelton defeated Yoni Sherbatov and Ronaldo Candido before losing to the eventual tournament winner Tim Elliott. The former CAMMA champion has seven finishes five by way of submission.
