Jornel Lugo vs. Keith Lee set for Bellator 265

Jornel Lugo will put his undefeated record on the line as he takes on Keith Lee at Bellator 265 on August 20.

Sources told MyMMANews that the undefeated and eighth-ranked bantamweight in Lugo will take on Keith Lee in South Dakota. The fight will also be contested at a 140-pound catchweight. The main event of the card sees a heavyweight clash between Cheick Kongo and Sergei Kharitonov. Bellator 265 also features the number one contender bout at featherweight between Jay Jay Wilson and Adam Borics.

Jornel Lugo (6-0) is 3-0 in Bellator and coming off a decision victory over Cass Bell at Bellator 256 in April. Prior to that, the 25-year-old defeated Schyler Sootho by decision in his return to Bellator. His other win in the promotion was also a decision victory over John Douma at Bellator 232 in 2019. Following that win, he took one fight in SFT and beat Cortavious Romious by split decision. In his first two fights, Lugo competed in CES and won both by stoppage.

Keith Lee (7-4) is the younger brother of UFC welterweight, Kevin Lee and is coming off a decision loss to Raufeon Stots at Bellator 253 in November. The loss was his first setback in the promotion after beating Shawn Bunch in his debut and following it up with a decision victory over Vinicius Zani.
