JP Buys vs Bruno Silva slated for March 20th UFC bout

JP Buys vs Bruno Silva is a flyweight bout going down in a few weeks.

MMA DNA initially reported news of this March 20th booking. MMA Fighting confirmed the news with multiple sources close to this situation.

UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Holland looks to be going down at the UFC Apex in La Vegas, Nevada.

JP Buys vs Bruno Silva

JP Buys enters the cage for his UFC debut in this prizefight.

He has won his last five MMA bouts consecutively after tasting defeat to Joby Sanchez in Buys’ first Contender Series go around.

JP Buys punched his ticket to the UFC by securing a first-round guillotine choke victory over Jacob Silva. This presumably redemptive win came in a November bout in his Contender Series return.

Also of note, Buys will be making his UFC debut on the same card that his wife is making her inaugural octagon foray. Cheyanne Buys is also a Contender Series product and will be taking on Kay Hansen in a strawweight bout on the event’s preliminary portion.

JP Buys has captured EFC distinctions in the form of their interim flyweight title as well as the promotion’s bantamweight belt. JP Buys competed under the banners of LFA and Brave CF in previous contests.

Conversely, Bruno Silva is also looking for his first octagon win despite three prior forays into the UFC cage.

Silva is 0-2 with one no contest in UFC competition and the no-contest was originally a loss as well.

Bruno Silva has snared the WFF flyweight title in past efforts. He also has notable prior highlights via LFA and The Ultimate Fighter Brazil season four.

Silva is looking to resume his winning ways after back-to-back unanimous decision defeats. These losses came to David Dvořák and Tagir Ulanbekov, respectively.

Who advances in the 125-pound hierarchy when JP Buys vs Bruno Silva goes down?
