Julian Erosa talks UFC 279 win and signing a new contract
Julian Erosa chalked up another win next to his name at UFC 279 and as a result of his recent successes, the UFC has awarded him.
Just two days after his unanimous decision win over Hakeem Dawodu, Erosa got a phone call from his manager in which Erosa found out that UFC was offering him a brand new contract.
Erosa was happy with the phone, because in the past, the phone calls usually resulted in Erosa being cut by the promotion as this is Erosa’s third stint with the company.
The third time has definitely been the charm for “Juicy J” as he’s 5-1 since redoing the UFC in 2020.
Right now Erosa is on a three fight winning streak and his last performance really turned a lot of heads as the UFC commentators called Erosa’s UFC 279 performance the best they’ve ever seen from him.
In the opening round of his UFC 279 fight with Dawodu, Erosa landed several big strikes that had Dawodu in a lot of trouble. Erosa then followed up with the great first round with takedowns in the second and third rounds to secure a clear cut unanimous decision win in which he didn’t lose a round.
Not only did Erosa get the win, but he also went home with some extra money since Dawodu missed weight and forced to give 30 percent of his purse.
Following his victory, Erosa spoke with MyMMANews about his performance, his new UFC contract and getting extra money as a result of Dawodu missing weight.
You can watch his full interview in the video above.
