Julija Stoliarenko vs Julia Avila is going to underpin UFC’s first quarter of 2021 programming. A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed this bout to MMAJunkie following a report to MMA Fighting.

This UFC Fight Night event does not have a disclosed location and fight venue as of this writing.

Both combatants are looking to bounce back from respective defeats and return back to their winning ways.

Stoliarenko, 9-4-1 overall in MMA competition, is looking for her first-ever UFC win with an 0-2 Octagon record overall. Her last outing saw her fall short in her UFC return. She was bested by Yana Kunitskaya via unanimous decision in August last year.

Conversely, Avila is coming off of her own unanimous decision defeat which happened against Sijara Eubanks in September. This put Julia Avila’s UFC record to 2-1 with an 8-2 MMA record overall.

Raging Panda had a four-fight win streak snapped last time out. Avila is looking to regain that traction in her first outing of 2021.

Julija Stoliarenko has the distinction of being a former Invicta FC champion at 135 lbs. Stoliarenko captured the hardware in what was arguably the best fight of 2020 outside the UFC bubble. She garnered a split decision over Lisa Verzosa in an all-time classic bloodbath. This war came prior to her aforementioned UFC return opposite Kunitskaya.

Avila is also an alumnus of Invicta FC and has a few notable wins throughout her fight career. Julia Avila has wins over names like Gina Mazany, Pannie Kianzad, as well as inaugural UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montaño.

The women’s bantamweight division will surely be an intriguing one to follow throughout 2021. Julija Stoliarenko is presently unranked while Julia Avila sits at number 15 via the UFC’s official rankings.
