Joanna Jedrzejczyk discusses her 2020 Fight of the Year and what’s next

Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Weili Zhang put on one hell of a performance in their epic co-main event of UFC 248. Their fight, which happen ten months ago in March, brought every single person in the arena to their feet.

After 25 minutes of their nonstop action pack fight, Zhang edged out Jedrzejczyk by a split decision to retain her strawweight belt.

The fight has been talked about regularly ever since and many consider it to be the greatest female fight in UFC history. Some people even take it a step farther and say it was the greatest fight in women’s MMA history.

Now months later, the fight has been on the forefront of many MMA Awards has it has taken Fight of the Year honors by a number of different organizations and outlets including the 12th Annual MMA Awards.

Following the Fight of the Year recognition, Jedrzejczyk spoke to MyMMANews about the fight and not receiving an automatic rematch.

Aside from her last fight, the No. 2 strawweight contender also touched on a several of other topics like her future at strawweight, working on a new contract with the UFC and recent projects outside of the octagon which include working with kids with cancer, a new book and a HBO documentary.
