Katlyn Chookagian vs. Viviane Araujo added to UFC’s May 15 event
A pair of top 10 women flyweights in Katlyn Chookagian and Viviane Araujo will meet at the UFC’s May 15 event.
The fight card is currently without a location or venue. ESPN’s Breet Okamoto was the first to report the recent booking.
Chookagian is the winner of two of her last three bouts. She most recently earned a unanimous decision win against Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 255 this past November.
She re-entered the win column after a first-round knockout via a punch to the body against former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 180 in October.
“The Blonde Fighter” from New Jersey is currently sitting at 6-3 since making the dropping down to 125 pounds. She is currently ranked second in the women’s flyweight division.
Araujo is on a two-fight winning streak since losing by unanimous decision to Jessica Eye at UFC 245 in December 2019. She responded with back-to-back decision victories over Roxanne Modaferri and Montana De La Rosa.
Araujo is currently 4-1 inside the UFC octagon with her only loss coming against Eye. She currently sits at No. 7 in the women’s 125-pound division.
