Kelleher with quick turnaround, fights Stamann at UFC 250

Brian Kelleher makes a quick turnaround to face Cody Stamann at UFC 250 on June 6.

Kelleher is finding a trend as he faces a fellow bantamweight in a featherweight matchup. “Boom” recently earned a first-round knockout over bantamweight Hunter Azure at UFC on ESPN+ 29 on May 13, while fighting at 145 lbs.

BJPenn.com initially reported the fight between Kelleher and Stamman. For UFC 250, the promotion is targeting the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC is still waiting for the Nevada Athletic Commission to approve the resurgence of combat sports in the state.

Kelleher is currently riding a two-fight win streak inside the octagon. Prior to his knockout of Azure, Kelleher defeated Ode Osbourne via first-round submission at UFC 246 on Jan. 18.

Kelleher is one of the most active bantamweights as of late, fighting for the third time this year when he faces Stamann.

Most recently, Stamann was slated to fight Raoni Barcelos at UFC on ESPN 8 on March 28. The card was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stamann’s last outing was a majority draw against Song Yadong at UFC on ESPN 7 in December 2019.

The 30-year-old is 4-1-1 inside the octagon.

The UFC 250 main card is available on pay-per-view, while the prelims will broadcast on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.
