Koby Carr-Pierce claims title at BCM Promotions: Fight Night 16

BCM Promotions held their first event of 2024 on Saturday night, as “Fight Night 16 – Spring Break” went down at Fairhaven Hall in Mansfield, Ohio.

The event featured a dozen amateur bouts, headlined by a bantamweight title tilt between local favorite Koby Carr-Pierce and Pennsylvania’s Elijah Davis.

The bout was a clash of styles, as Carr-Pierce came in with all four of his wins via first round submission, while Davis prefers to strike. He was also coming in off of a 34-second knockout just last month in his last outing.

The bout played out exactly as expected, with Carr-Pierce quickly getting the fight to the ground and continually attacking both arms and legs. He appeared to nearly have a knee bar locked in in the first round, but Davis punched his way out. Davis continued to try to utilize ground and pound, while Carr-Pierce chained submissions together. The fight went back and forth for all three rounds, with Carr-Pierce controlling the action and earning a unanimous decision.

In the co-main event, Ronald Castaneda earned his third career win, picking up a unanimous decision over veteran Samuel McGuigan. After two vicious knockouts in his first two wins, Castaneda looked explosive once again, but McGuigan hung tough and forced the decision.

Jose Poprawa and Stephen Fleming put together an entertaining bout, with both fighters going back and forth before Poprawa was able to lock in the rear naked choke in the third round.
