KSW 55 Results: Mamed Khalidov Shocks The World
KSW 55 took place Saturday evening, October 10 from Lodz, Poland. The entire event is available to watch back on demand for up to 72 hours on www.KSWTV.com.
At 40-year-old, the legendary Mamed Khalidov (35-7-2) turned back the clock at KSW 55 to finish Scott Askham (19-5) with a highlight reel finish just 36 seconds into the first round to once again win the middleweight title. In doing so, Khalidov becomes a three-time KSW champion after winning the light heavyweight title in 2009 and his first middleweight title in 2015.
In the co-main event former champ Michal Materla (29-7) got through an early scare to finish ‘The Joker’ Aleksandar Ilic (12-4) with punches from the side-mounted crucifix position while Olympic medalist Damian Janikowski (5-3) squeaked past Sweden’s Andreas Gustafsson (6-1) in what was a back and forth war.
